Cummerbunds

Cummerbunds

A cummerbund is an expansive midriff scarf in different plans including creases, that was worn with twofold breasted tailcoats, it is currently regularly worn with single-breasted supper coats (or tuxedos). The cummerbund began in Persia and was embraced by British military officials in pioneer India, where they saw it worn by sepoys (Indian troopers) of the British Indian Army. [citation needed] It was taken on as an option in contrast to the petticoat, and later spread to regular citizen use. The advanced utilization of the cummerbund to Europeans and North Americans is a part of conventional dark tie occasions.
